Kabibi Primary School

About Us

Our Story

Founded in 1992 by Valerian Kayobya, the longtime catechist of Kabibi Catholic Church, Kabibi Primary School was established in response to a pressing need within the community. At the time, children in the surrounding villages had to walk long distances to attend school, making education inaccessible for many families and contributing to high dropout rates.

Driven by his deep faith and commitment to serving the community, Mr. Kayobya envisioned a school where every child, regardless of their background or family’s income, could receive a quality education close to home. What began as a modest Catholic Church initiative has grown into a respected community school dedicated to nurturing academic excellence, moral values, and servant leadership.

Despite challenges such as limited infrastructure, inadequate classroom space, and fluctuating enrollment over the years, Kabibi Primary School has remained steadfast in its mission. Today, the school proudly serves more than 210 students, providing a safe and supportive learning environment where children are encouraged to develop academically, spiritually, and socially.

For more than three decades, Kabibi Primary School has transformed the lives of hundreds of children, many of whom are the first in their families to complete primary education. As the educational needs of the community continue to grow, the school is committed to expanding its facilities, improving the quality of instruction, and preparing students to become future leaders who will positively impact Uganda and beyond.

Everyday at Kabibi Primary School is like a blessing with the active students and talented staff members around.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The school currently operates three classroom blocks, but several structures require significant renovation and upgrading. While parents contribute toward school fees, many families face financial challenges due to dependence on subsistence farming. Two existing buildings have deteriorated to the point of posing potential safety risks to students and staff. The school’s strategic priority is to replace unsafe structures with modern, safe, and sustainable facilities that provide a conducive learning environment for future generations.
